TFT Set 18 Emblems Guide: All Recipes and Best Holders

An emblem gives its holder a trait they don't have. Set 18 has 20 emblems: 8 built from a @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_Spatula@, 8 built from a @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_FryingPan@, and 4 you can't craft at all.

Quick answer. A @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_Spatula@ plus a second component makes an origin emblem, like @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Blossom@, @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Elderwood@, @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Inferno@ or @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Lunar@. A Frying Pan makes a class emblem, and each one gives the holder an extra bonus on top of the trait.

@tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemCoven@, @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemDefender@, @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFloraFatalis@ and @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemJuggernaut@ can't be crafted.

The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemElderwood@ is built most often. Elderwood Aphelios builds it in 60% of games, and Elderwood Ezreal in 33% of the Tier 2 version and 57% of the Tier 3 version.

After that come Executioner Blossom Sett with the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemExecutioner@ at 38%, Solar Rapidfire Reroll with the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemLunar@ at 36%, Invoker Ahri with the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemInvoker@ at 34%, and Master Yi with the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemBrawler@ at 33%.

How do emblems work in TFT Set 18?

The difference that matters is the bonus. Apart from @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemSprykin@, a Spatula emblem's tooltip adds nothing beyond the trait. Every Frying Pan emblem also gives the holder something of its own, like on-hit damage or an execute. That bonus works even when the emblem doesn't reach a new breakpoint, which is why some boards slot a class emblem that takes a trait from 2 to 3 and reaches no breakpoint at all.

Augments that grant emblems

Augments like @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_BranchingOut@ and @tft=set18:augment:DA_FrontlineFoundation@ hand out emblems directly. Frontline Foundation gives a 1-cost Tank and an emblem that matches their class, and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Leona@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ornn@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Rakan@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Yorick@ are the 1-cost Tanks with Defender or Juggernaut.

Flora Fatalis Emblem

The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFloraFatalis@ shows up on carousels, and @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ gives a stronger version whose holder gets 70% more from the trait. That version is the pick in Spellweaver Elderwood Reroll on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ and in Defender Reroll on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@. Our Flora Fatalis guide covers how it works.

Who should hold each emblem?

There are two kinds of emblem slot. A holder emblem pays off on the champion holding it, through the trait bonus or the emblem's own bonus, so it goes on your carry. A breakpoint emblem only adds one to the count, and the payoff goes to everyone else in the trait. Those go on a champion with free item slots, so your carry keeps room for damage items.

Invoker Emblem

Invoker Blossom Ahri and Invoker Riftbeast Ahri both field 3 Invokers without her: @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sentry@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Morgana@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Sentinel18@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemInvoker@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ahri@ makes 4, and at 4 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Invoker@ gives Invokers 6 Mana Regen against 2 for the rest of the team. Ahri is the caster, so she gets the bigger regen and the emblem's Ability Power on every cast. This is a holder emblem: when these boards build it, it goes on Ahri in 94% of Blossom boards and 85% of Riftbeast boards.

Vanguard Alune and Vanguard Coven Morgana use it the other way. Both run 2 Invokers, and the emblem on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Alune@ makes 3. Alune is one of the two carries there, so she gets the regen and Ability Power as well as the breakpoint.

Elderwood Emblem

At level 8 Elderwood Ezreal fields six @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Elderwood@ champions, and the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemElderwood@ is the seventh. Without it, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_GnarSmall@ at level 9 makes 7, and the @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Lux_Elderwood@ makes 8, since she counts as 2. With both the emblem and Lux it reaches 9, where the plants star up to 2-star. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ are the usual holders. Both are on the board anyway for their 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@, so the emblem adds an Elderwood without a new unit, and Soraka is a second carry next to @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ezreal@. Our Elderwood guide covers what each breakpoint does.

Lunar Emblem

Solar Rapidfire Reroll fields 3 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Solar@ and 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Lunar@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemLunar@ makes the third Lunar, and 3 Solar with 3 Lunar activates @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Eclipse@. It goes on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Kayle@ or on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Varus@ in the flex slot. Varus holds it in 48% of the boards that build it and Kayle in 41%. The holder becomes a Lunar champion and gets double the trait's Attack Speed and Ability Power. On Kayle, that double bonus lands on the carry. Our Eclipse guide covers the trait.

Brawler Emblem

Blossom Adaptor Reroll has 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Brawler@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_Krug18@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sett@. The emblem on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_MasterYi_AD@ makes 3, which is no new breakpoint. It's built anyway because both bonuses land on Yi. Brawlers get 25% max Health at 2, and the emblem's hits deal 2.5% of max Health as magic damage, so that extra Health makes every hit bigger.

Defender Emblem

Defender Reroll's core has five Defenders. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Leona@ in the flex slot makes six. Boards that play @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Rengar@ in that slot instead get the sixth from the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemDefender@ on him, and he holds it in 71% of the boards that build it. He also gets the emblem's Attack Speed for each ally who starts in the front row. At 6 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Defender@ gives Defenders 115 Armor and Magic Resist.

Inferno and Hunter Emblems

Juggernaut Ashe gets 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Inferno@ from @tft=set18:unit:DA_Amumu18@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Kennen@, and that is enough for most games. About one board in five adds the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemInferno@, on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ashe@ 85% of the time, to make 3. At 3, a shop slot ignites after each combat and rolls a champion one tier higher, and Ashe's own damage Burns and Wounds.

@tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sivir@ and Ashe are the board's 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Hunter@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemHunter@ makes 3, which raises their Attack Damage from 20% to 30%. The payoff goes to Ashe and Sivir, so it sits on Kennen, who doesn't need the slots.

Executioner Emblem

Three boards take @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Executioner@ from 2 to 3 with the emblem, each on their carry: @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Zyra@ in Sprykin Executioner Reroll, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Diana@ in Elderwood Executioner Reroll and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Draven18@ in Elderwood Draven. The holder gets Precision, so their ability can crit, and 3 Executioner adds a bleed. Executioner Blossom Sett builds it more often than any of them, in 38% of games, and puts it on Ahri 96% of the time. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Yunara@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ezreal@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ already make 3, so Ahri takes it to 4 and the bleed rises from 25% to 35% bonus true damage. Our Executioner guide covers the emblem in full.

Rapidfire and Ravager Emblems

Lunar Primal Aphelios has 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Rapidfire@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Aphelios@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Varus@, and the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemRapidfire@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_KogMaw18_AD@ makes 3. At 3, Rapidfire champions gain 5% Attack Speed per attack instead of 3%. Elderwood Aphelios also runs 2 Rapidfire, in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Xayah@ and Aphelios, but builds the emblem in only 7% of games, on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ezreal@ 66% of the time.

Lunar Primal Aphelios also has 1 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Slayer@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Diana@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemSlayer@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_Nidalee18_AP@ makes 2, so she gains 10% Omnivamp and 12% bonus damage, doubled against targets below half Health. Blackthorn Ravager Reroll already has 3 Ravagers, and the emblem on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Azir@ makes 4, which raises their bonus damage from 12% to 25%.

Vanguard and Spellweaver Emblems

Vanguard Alune runs 3 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Vanguard@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Diana@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_Sentinel18@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Taric18@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemVanguard@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Lillia@ makes 4, which raises every Vanguard's Shield from 18% to 30% of max Health. Lillia holds it in 58% of the boards that build it and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ in 24%. Vanguard Coven Morgana already has 4 in its core, so the emblem only makes 5 there, one short of the 6 breakpoint. Just 4% of those boards build it.

The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemSpellweaver@ goes on Morgana in Invoker Blossom Ahri. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ahri@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Karma18@ give 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Spellweaver@, so the emblem makes 3, which isn't a breakpoint. Only 5% of those boards build it, so it's a use for a spare @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_FryingPan@, not part of the plan.

Blossom Emblem

Invoker Riftbeast Ahri has 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Blossom@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ahri@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sett@. The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemBlossom@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Morgana@ or @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Alune@ makes 3, Blossom's first breakpoint. Only 10% of those boards build it. Alune holds it in 40% of them and Morgana in 33%.

Blackthorn Emblem

Blackthorn Ravager Reroll has 4 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Blackthorn@ in its core, and the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemBlackthorn@ on @tft=set18:unit:DA_Brambleback18@ makes 5. That's no new breakpoint, since Blackthorn breaks at 2, 4 and 6. It's built for the holder: Blackthorn champions gain extra stats from the champion you sacrifice on the Blackthorn hex, and the emblem gives those stats to Brambleback.

Primal, Fae and Sprykin Emblems

No strong board builds the Primal Emblem, and the breakpoints explain why. @tft=set18:trait:DA_Primal18@ has two breakpoints, 2 and 4, and the boards that play it already sit at 2 with @tft=set18:unit:DA_Vi18@ plus @tft=set18:unit:DA_Nidalee18_AP@ or @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sivir@. One @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemPrimal@ only makes 3, so build it when a third Primal is already on your board and the emblem gets you to 4 and a second blessing.

The @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFae@ shows up in Fae Tristana, which runs 3 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Fae@ in @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Rakan@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Tristana@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Lillia@. The emblem makes 4, Fae's top breakpoint, and goes on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Sivir@ in 56% of the boards that build it. @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Sprykin@ breaks at 3, 5 and 7, and the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemSprykin@ is best on the champion you plan to put on the BFF, because only the Rider gets its extra stats.

Frequently asked questions

Which emblem is built most often in TFT Set 18?

By build rate, the Elderwood Emblem. In patch 18.5 Elderwood Aphelios builds it in 60% of games and Elderwood Ezreal in up to 57%, more often than any other strong board builds an emblem.

Which emblems can't be crafted in Set 18?
