TFT Set 18 Flora Fatalis Emblem Guide: Consuming Flora and Best Comps
@tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ is the smallest trait in Set 18. Two champions carry it, and most boards that run it never think about it. Then someone takes @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@, drops the emblem on a 30 Mana caster, and the trait turns into a Mana engine.
This guide covers what Flora Fatalis does, who should hold the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFloraFatalis@, when Consuming Flora is worth the click and which comps play the trait.
Quick answer. Flora Fatalis gives its champions 10 Mana on every takedown, and at 2 it also heals your lowest Health ally for 7% of their max Health. Only @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ have it, so the emblem is the only way past 2. @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ gives you a Flora Fatalis Emblem that grants 70% more of the trait, which is 17 Mana per takedown. Put it on a champion with a 30 Mana cast. Players put it on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ in Spellweaver Elderwood Reroll and on @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@ in Defender Reroll.
How does Flora Fatalis work in TFT?
@tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ champions harvest enemies on takedown. What they get depends on how many Flora Fatalis champions you field.
Flora Fatalis | Bonus |
|---|---|
1 | The champion gains 10 Mana on takedown |
2 | 10 Mana on takedown, and each takedown heals your lowest Health ally for 7% of their max Health |
The Mana goes to the champion that got the takedown. The heal goes to whoever is lowest, so a backline Flora Fatalis champion can keep your frontline standing.
10 Mana is small on a 90 Mana cast. On a 30 Mana cast it's a third of the bar, and that's why the trait matters more on the emblem holder than on the two champions who have it.
Flora Fatalis champions
Champion | Cost | Other traits | Mana cost |
|---|---|---|---|
@tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ | 3 | @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Defender@, @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Spellweaver@ | 90, starts at 30 |
@tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ | 4 | @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Executioner@ | 30, starts at 0 |
@tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ is a melee tank. His Harvest drains the 3 nearest enemies, heals him and cuts their Magic Resist. He sits in front, so he rarely gets the final hit, and the 10 Mana does little on a 90 Mana bar. He's on the board for the heal at 2 and his other traits.
@tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ is the better @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ champion. Her Starcall costs 30 Mana, and once a star has hit a target, the next cast on it calls down 3 more. Every takedown puts her a third of the way to another cast. Patch 18.1 raised her first star's damage to 225 at 1 star and 335 at 2 stars.
The Flora Fatalis Emblem
You can't build the @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFloraFatalis@ from a @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_Spatula@. It only comes from carousels or from the @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ augment, and those are two different emblems.
The carousel emblem. It gives the holder @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ and nothing else.
The Consuming Flora emblem. It comes from the augment and gives the holder 70% more of the trait's bonuses.
With only two Flora Fatalis champions, the emblem is the only way to get the trait onto a third unit. It's also the only way to get it onto a carry, since neither @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ nor @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ carries the comps that run them.
Who should hold the Flora Fatalis Emblem?
Give it to a champion with a 30 Mana cast who gets a lot of takedowns. Those are the two things the trait pays for.
Veigar. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ casts Primordial Burst for 30 Mana, and it permanently gives him 2% Ability Power when it kills. With the @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ emblem, every kill refunds half his Mana bar too. Kills lead to faster casts, which lead to more kills and more AP.
Cassiopeia. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@ casts Noxious Blast for 30 Mana. It poisons her target and the nearest enemy that isn't poisoned. The poisons stack and last 15 seconds, so she tags most of the enemy board and picks up a lot of takedowns.
In our comp data, the boards that take Consuming Flora put the emblem on one of these two almost every time.
Avoid champions with big Mana bars. 17 Mana on a 90 Mana champion is under a fifth of a cast, and an emblem slot is worth more as a different trait.
Consuming Flora
@tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ is a gold augment. It gives you a @tft=set18:item:DA_18_EmblemFloraFatalisAugment@ and 3 gold. The champion holding that emblem gets 70% more of the trait's bonuses, so the math works out to this:
Flora Fatalis | Normal | Emblem holder with Consuming Flora |
|---|---|---|
1 | 10 Mana on takedown | 17 Mana on takedown |
2 | 10 Mana and a 7% heal | 17 Mana and a 12% heal |
At 17 Mana, a 30 Mana champion casts again after two takedowns with no attacks in between.
The 18.2 nerf
@tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ launched with 200% trait effectiveness, double the trait. Patch 18.2 cut it to 150%, and it now gives 170%, a 70% bonus. Riot's note said the augment had pushed a few champions into S-tier.
The same patch made it exclusive to 1 player per lobby. Take it when you're offered it and already hold a 30 Mana carry.
When to take Consuming Flora
You're on Spellweaver Elderwood Reroll. It's the top augment for that board in our comp data.
You're on Defender Reroll. It's one of the board's three recommended augments.
You have @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ or @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@ and a reroll plan. Both are cheap, so you can find a 3-star and have the emblem do work from stage 3.
Skip it on fast 8 boards whose carries have big Mana bars. The 3 gold doesn't make up for an emblem with no good holder.
What are the best Flora Fatalis comps?
Two kinds of boards use the trait. Some run @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ for 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ and the heal. The others are built around the @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@ emblem. Five comps on our comps tier list play it.
Comp | Flora Fatalis champions | Plan | Main carry |
|---|---|---|---|
Spellweaver Elderwood reroll | @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@, plus the emblem | Slowroll at 5 | @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ |
Defender reroll | @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@, plus the emblem | Slowroll at 7 | @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@ |
Sprykin Executioner reroll | @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ | Slowroll at 7 | @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Azir@ |
Elderwood Executioner reroll | @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ | Slowroll at 7 | @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_KhaZix@ |
Executioner Blossom Sett | @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ | Fast 8 | @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ahri@ |
The last three get the heal without building around it, and all three share @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Executioner@ with Soraka. Our Sprykin guide covers the Azir board, and our Elderwood guide covers the Kha'Zix board. About 1 in 4 boards in our comp data runs both champions.
The rest of this section covers the two Consuming Flora boards as they stood in patch 18.4.
Spellweaver Elderwood Reroll
This board is built around @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@. You stay at level 5 and roll for 3-star Veigar, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_RekSai@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ornn@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Alistar@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_LeBlanc@, then add 2-star @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@. Fiddlesticks is already on the board, so the emblem on Veigar gives you 2 @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ and the heal.
Commit when your shops give you Veigar, Ornn and LeBlanc upgrades and your items fit them. A 3-star Alistar or Veigar early, or an early @tft=set18:item:DA_GargoyleStoneplate@, are the strongest signs. The recommended augments are @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@, @tft=set18:augment:DA_PortableForge@ and @tft=set18:augment:DA_CyberneticUplink_Gold@.
Don't level up past 5 until your 3-stars are done. Roll the gold you have above 50.
Level | Stage | What to do |
|---|---|---|
2 to 3 | 1-3, 1-4 | Level on time |
4 | 2-3 | Reach 10 gold |
5 | 3-2 | Slowroll for 3-stars above 50 gold |
6 to 7 | 4-2, 5-1 | Finish upgrades, then econ back to 50 gold and level |
Your rolling happens from 3-2 through stage 4, while you sit at level 5.
Veigar: @tft=set18:item:DA_BlueBuff@, @tft=set18:item:DA_HextechGunblade@, @tft=set18:item:DA_JeweledGauntlet@. The emblem takes one of these slots.
Ornn: @tft=set18:item:DA_Crownguard@, @tft=set18:item:DA_GargoyleStoneplate@, @tft=set18:item:DA_WarmogsArmor@.
Alistar: @tft=set18:item:DA_GargoyleStoneplate@, @tft=set18:item:DA_SpiritVisage@, @tft=set18:item:DA_WarmogsArmor@.
LeBlanc: @tft=set18:item:DA_Morellonomicon@, @tft=set18:item:DA_SpearOfShojin@, @tft=set18:item:DA_VoidStaff@.
In priority order, the full board uses 4 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_TearOfTheGoddess@, 4 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_NeedlesslyLargeRod@, 3 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_GiantsBelt@, 2 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_BFSword@, 2 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_ChainVest@, and one each of @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_SparringGloves@, @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_NegatronCloak@ and @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_RecurveBow@.
With a spare slot, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ is the most common addition. Other boards add @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ahri@, or Ahri and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Alune@.
Defender Reroll
This board is built around @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@. You roll at level 7 for 3-star Cassiopeia, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Rammus@ and @tft=set18:unit:DA_Fiddlesticks18@. @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Lillia@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Shen@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Leona@, @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Ornn@, Fiddlesticks and Rammus give you 6 @tft=set18:trait:DA_18_Defender@. With the emblem on Cassiopeia and @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Soraka@ on the board, you have 3 @tft=set18:trait:DA_FloraFatalis18@ champions, and two of them cast at 30 Mana.
Commit when you find Cassiopeia, Fiddlesticks and Rammus upgrades and your items fit them. A 3-star Cassiopeia or Fiddlesticks early, or an opener that already runs Defender, are the strongest signs. The recommended augments are @tft=set18:augment:DA_SeraphimsStaff@, @tft=set18:augment:DA_FrontlineFoundation@ and @tft=set18:augment:DA_18_FloraFatalisAugment@.
Save gold early and roll once you reach level 7.
Level | Stage | What to do |
|---|---|---|
2 to 3 | 1-3, 1-4 | Level on time |
4 to 5 | 2-3, 3-1 | Save gold |
6 | 3-2 | Stabilize and stay above 20 gold |
7 | 3-6 | Slowroll for 3-stars above 50 gold |
Most of your gold goes in from 3-6, once you reach level 7.
Cassiopeia: @tft=set18:item:DA_ArchangelsStaff@, @tft=set18:item:DA_HextechGunblade@, @tft=set18:item:DA_SpearOfShojin@.
Soraka: @tft=set18:item:DA_JeweledGauntlet@, @tft=set18:item:DA_NashorsTooth@, @tft=set18:item:DA_SpearOfShojin@.
Rammus: @tft=set18:item:DA_GargoyleStoneplate@, @tft=set18:item:DA_SteadfastHeart@, @tft=set18:item:DA_WarmogsArmor@.
Fiddlesticks: @tft=set18:item:DA_AdaptiveHelm@, @tft=set18:item:DA_Crownguard@, @tft=set18:item:DA_TitansResolve@.
The two tanks hold each other's items early. Fiddlesticks wears Rammus's items until Rammus arrives, and Rammus wears Fiddlesticks's.
In priority order, the full board uses 4 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_ChainVest@, 3 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_NeedlesslyLargeRod@, 3 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_TearOfTheGoddess@, 2 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_BFSword@, 2 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_NegatronCloak@, 2 @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_GiantsBelt@, and one each of @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_RecurveBow@ and @tft=set18:item:DA_Component_SparringGloves@.
Soraka is the first unit to drop when you're short a slot. The emblem on Cassiopeia still makes 2 Flora Fatalis with Fiddlesticks. Some boards play @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Rengar@ instead of Leona, which takes you down to 4 Defender.
Common Flora Fatalis mistakes
Putting the emblem on a big Mana bar. 17 Mana barely moves a 90 Mana cast. Find a 30 Mana champion.
Planning around Consuming Flora. Only one player per lobby can take it, so play a board that works without it.
Treating Fiddlesticks as a Flora Fatalis carry. He's a tank who gets few takedowns. His value is the heal at 2 and his other traits.
Taking Consuming Flora with no reroll plan. The emblem pays off on a 3-star @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Veigar@ or @tft=set18:unit:DA_18_Cassiopeia@. On a board that tops out at 2-stars, the Mana doesn't turn into enough kills.
Frequently asked questions
How do you get the Flora Fatalis Emblem in TFT?
You can't build it from a Spatula. It only comes from carousels or from the Consuming Flora augment. The augment's emblem also gives the holder 70% more of the trait's bonuses, and only one player per lobby can take it.
Who should hold the Flora Fatalis Emblem?
A champion with a 30 Mana cast who gets a lot of takedowns. Veigar and Cassiopeia are the usual holders. Each takedown with the Consuming Flora emblem refunds more than half their Mana bar.
What does Consuming Flora do?
It gives you a Flora Fatalis Emblem and 3 gold. The holder gains 70% more of the trait, which is 17 Mana per takedown instead of 10. Patch 18.2 cut it from double the trait and made it exclusive to one player per lobby.
What are the Flora Fatalis champions in TFT Set 18?
Fiddlesticks, a 3-cost Defender and Spellweaver, and Soraka, a 4-cost Executioner. With only two champions, you need an emblem to go past 2 Flora Fatalis.
What is the best Flora Fatalis comp?
With Consuming Flora, Spellweaver Elderwood Reroll on Veigar or Defender Reroll on Cassiopeia. Without it, Executioner boards like Sprykin Executioner Reroll run Fiddlesticks and Soraka for the heal.
